02The ProblemMasterclass

Not a language problem.
A pressure problem.

You know your subject. You know your English. But what happens when the question is not the one you prepared for?

  • 01Your CEO asks a question you did not see coming, and the room turns to you.
  • 02A client challenges your number in front of your own team.
  • 03A board member follows up, then follows up again, on the one point you were least ready for.
  • 04A colleague puts you on the spot in a meeting you thought you were only attending.

You hesitate. You overthink. You fumble. You rush. Or your mind simply goes blank. Think on Your Feet is built to solve exactly that.

03Who It Is ForMasterclass

Find the room
you keep losing.

Six kinds of professional, and the exact moment each one is in this masterclass for. Every row names the modules that answer it.

CEOs and Founders
An investor, a journalist or your own board asks the question you were hoping would come last, and there is nobody in the room to defer to.
Modules 1, 4 and 5
Senior Leaders and Executives
You are three slides into a plan when a peer interrupts with an objection that is fair, public and unrehearsed.
Modules 2, 3 and 5
Managers and Team Leaders
Someone on your team asks about a decision you did not make and cannot fully explain, and how you answer sets the temperature for the week.
Modules 1, 3 and 4
Client-Facing Professionals
A client asks what your competitor does better, on a call, with your own leadership listening.
Modules 2, 4 and 5
Consultants and Advisors
You are hired for your judgement, so "let me come back to you" costs more from you than from anyone else in the room.
Modules 3, 4 and 5
Anyone who speaks in high-pressure rooms
Meetings, presentations, interviews, panels and reviews: any room where the question arrives before you are ready for it.
All five modules

  • 03Structure an answer quickly.
  • 04Speak when you do not have a prepared answer.
  • 05Recover when you fumble or lose your train of thought.
  • 06Sound confident without pretending to know everything.
  • 07Handle follow-up questions and pressure from senior people.
05How It RunsMasterclass

This is not a lecture.
You will speak.

A completely interactive masterclass. You practise the skill in real time, because confidence under pressure cannot be learned by watching someone else speak.

01

Participants are called into the meeting and given real communication situations.

02

Your Tutor identifies where the communication broke down, and says so plainly.

03

You are taught through that specific breakdown, individually.

04

The exercise is repeated immediately, so the improvement is demonstrated rather than promised.

06The CurriculumMasterclass

Five modules.
Ten sub-modules.

Every one of them practised in the room, not described.

Module 01

Calm Under Pressure

Stop the physical response before it reaches your voice.

Recognise the Pressure Trigger

Identify what actually causes the nervousness, and how pressure changes your pace, your voice, your thinking and your delivery before you have noticed it yourself.

Control the Physical and Vocal Response

Practise pausing, breathing, slowing down and staying present, so the first sentence out of your mouth is one you chose.

Module 02

Buy Yourself Thinking Time

Take the seconds you need without paying for them in authority.

The Confident Pause

Learn to take a few seconds to think without filling the silence with "uh", "umm", rushing, or unnecessary words.

Thinking Without Looking Uncertain

Practise opening phrases and deliberate pauses that hold the room while you decide what you are actually going to say.

Module 03

Build the Answer Quickly

Have a structure ready, so you are never starting from nothing.

Point, Reason, Example

Use a simple response structure under pressure, so the shape of the answer is settled before the content is.

Structure Without Overthinking

Stop searching for the perfect answer. Create a clear one quickly, then expand it with reasoning and examples.

Module 04

Handle the Unexpected

Answer well when you genuinely do not have the answer.

Impromptu Questions

Practise handling questions you have not prepared for, on topics chosen for you, with the clock running.

Difficult and Uncomfortable Questions

Acknowledge uncertainty, say what you do know, and hold your composure when you are challenged in front of others.

Module 05

Recover, Defend and Lead

Stop one mistake from costing you the rest of the answer.

Recover From Fumbles and Mistakes

Recover when you lose your train of thought, use the wrong word, or give an answer you know was incomplete.

Control the Conversation

Answer follow-ups, absorb pushback, and steer the conversation rather than being steered by it.

The final ten minutes are an open discussion. Participants raise the situations they personally struggle with, ask questions, and work through how the techniques apply to their own meetings, clients, presentations, interviews, boardrooms and leadership moments.

07What You Take AwayMasterclass

Four frameworks
you keep for good.

PAUSE, THINK, SPEAK

Give yourself permission to think before answering.

For the two seconds after a question lands, when the instinct is to start talking immediately.

P.R.E.P.

Point, Reason, Example, Point.

For building a complete answer at speed, when you have no prepared one.

RECOVER, REFRAME, CONTINUE

Do not let one mistake derail the rest of your answer.

For the moment after you fumble, lose the thread, or hear yourself say the wrong thing.

KNOW, ACKNOWLEDGE, RESPOND

Handle questions when you do not immediately have the answer.

For the question you cannot answer, where the honest response still has to sound like leadership.

Founder · Brightside English

Taught by someone who has run the room.

Jonah Joy founded Brightside English and teaches the method this masterclass is built on: taking capable, over-thinking professionals and turning them into people who walk into any room and simply say what they mean.

“You don’t have a speaking problem. You have a thinking-structure problem. Fix the structure, and the words follow.”

13QuestionsMasterclass

Think on Your Feet is a 90-minute live, fully interactive executive masterclass from Brightside English on speaking under pressure. It teaches you to stay composed when a question comes unexpectedly, take thinking time without appearing uncertain, structure an answer quickly, and recover when you fumble.

CEOs and founders, senior leaders and executives, managers and team leaders, client-facing professionals, consultants and advisors, and anyone who regularly speaks in meetings, presentations and high-pressure situations. It assumes you already have the English and the subject knowledge: the problem it solves is pressure, not vocabulary.

Neither. It is completely interactive. Participants are called into the meeting, given real communication situations, and taught individually. Your Tutor names the communication breakdown, works through it with the participant, and repeats the exercise immediately, so the improvement is demonstrated rather than described.

Yes, and that is the point. Confidence under pressure cannot be learned by watching someone else speak, so you practise the skill in real time in a room built for exactly that.

It runs for 90 minutes and costs Rs 1,200 for one seat, GST included. That covers the live session, the individual teaching within it, and the complimentary resources afterwards.
