Why this exists.

Jonah Joy started Brightside after watching the same thing happen repeatedly: capable people, entirely fluent on paper, going quiet in the rooms where it counted. They had been sent on courses. They had done the applications. What none of it gave them was an hour a week with one person who would listen properly and tell them the truth.

That is the whole product. Everything else here, the platform, the recordings, the curriculum, exists to make that hour work harder.

How we teach.

One Tutor, the whole way
You are not passed around. The same person takes you from the first session to the last, because the useful part of this work is somebody knowing what you did wrong three weeks ago.

You do most of the talking
A class where the Tutor speaks for forty minutes is a lecture. Our sessions are built so that the learner holds the floor for the majority of the hour, and the recordings on the reviews page are there so you can check that claim.

Structure before vocabulary
Most people who cannot speak are not short of words. They are short of a shape to put them in, and shape is faster to teach and faster to feel.

Nothing is a secret
Every session is recorded and yours for 45 days, with a written summary and a full transcript. You can hear yourself improve, which is the only evidence that really convinces anybody.
