Live masterclass · 90 minutes · online, in a group

think on your feet

Next date to be announced

The executive masterclass for speaking under pressure. Ninety live, fully interactive minutes on staying composed, buying thinking time and structuring an answer when a question arrives that you did not prepare for: from a board, a buyer, a class, an audience or a camera.

You know your subject. You know your English. Then the unexpected question lands, at a pitch, a panel, a live Q&A or a family gathering where everyone turns to you, and you hesitate, overthink or go blank. This is not a lecture: you are called in, given a real situation, your coach names the breakdown and you repeat the exercise straight away.

StructureVoicePresence

what it trains

  • Stay composed when a difficult question comes unexpectedly
  • Take thinking time without appearing uncertain
  • Structure an answer quickly
  • Speak when you do not have a prepared answer
  • Recover when you fumble
  • Sound confident without pretending to know everything
  • Handle follow-ups and pressure from senior people

five modules, ten sub-modules

1. calm under pressureStop the physical response before it reaches your voice.
  1. Recognise the pressure triggerNotice the moment the pressure starts, before it takes over.
  2. Control the physical and vocal responsePausing, breathing and slowing down.
2. buy yourself thinking timeTake the seconds you need without paying in authority.
  1. The confident pauseSilence instead of "uh" and "umm".
  2. Thinking without looking uncertainOpening phrases and deliberate pauses.
3. build the answer quicklyNever start from nothing.
  1. Point, reason, exampleA simple shape, so the structure is settled before the content.
  2. Structure without overthinkingA clear answer first, then reasons and examples.
4. handle the unexpectedAnswer well when you do not have the answer.
  1. Impromptu questionsTopics chosen for you, clock running.
  2. Difficult and uncomfortable questionsStaying steady when the question is fair and public.
5. recover, defend and leadStop one mistake costing the rest of the answer.
  1. Recover from fumbles and mistakesLost thread, wrong word, an answer you know was incomplete.
  2. Control the conversationFollow-ups and pushback, steering rather than being steered.

four frameworks you take away

pause, think, speak

Give yourself permission to think before answering.

For the two seconds after a question lands.

p.r.e.p.

Point, Reason, Example, Point.

For building a complete answer at speed.

recover, reframe, continue

Do not let one mistake derail the rest.

For the moment after you fumble or lose the thread.

know, acknowledge, respond

Handle the question you cannot answer yet.

When the honest response still has to sound like leadership.

who should attend

CEOs and founders

The investor, journalist or board asks the question you hoped would come last.

Modules 1, 4, 5
Leaders and managers

A peer pushes back in front of everyone, or your team asks about a decision you did not make.

Modules 1, 3, 5
Sales and client-facing people

A buyer asks what your competitor does better, or raises the objection you hoped to avoid.

Modules 2, 4, 5
Creators and public faces

The live Q&A, the podcast host's curveball, the comment you answer on camera.

Modules 1, 2, 4
Teachers and trainers

A student's question takes the class somewhere you did not plan.

Modules 2, 3, 4
Consultants and advisors

"Let me come back to you" costs you more than anyone.

Modules 3, 4, 5
Anyone who gets put on the spot

Pitches, panels, toasts, reviews and question time. It assumes working English: the problem is pressure, not vocabulary.

questions

Is this a lecture or a webinar?

Neither. It is completely interactive. Participants are called in one by one, given real communication situations and taught individually. Your coach names the breakdown, works through it with you and repeats the exercise immediately.

Will I have to speak in front of the group?

Yes, and that is the point. Composure under pressure cannot be learned by watching someone else speak, so you practise it in real time, in a room built for exactly that.

Do I need a certain level of English?

You need to be able to hold a conversation in English at work. It is built for fluent professionals whose delivery falls apart under pressure, not for learners still building the language itself.

How long is it, and where?

90 minutes, live online, in a group.

When does the next session run?

Dates are announced ahead of each sitting, and none is scheduled yet. Say Hi on WhatsApp and we will tell you when the next one opens.

The library and your coach

reading builds knowing. coaching builds saying

A book can show you the shape of a good answer. Saying it out loud, with someone listening and correcting you in the moment, is what makes it yours. Bring a chapter to a live 1:1 class and practise it on your own situation: the pitch, the toast, the hard conversation.
